A Commack man died after suffering an "apparent medical emergency" and driving off a Bay Shore dock, Suffolk Police said.

A Nissan Rogue driven by Robert Lancaster, 39, drove off the Maple Avenue dock and into the water about 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Suffolk Police news release. 

Lancaster was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene, said police, who did not provide specifics about the type of emergency he may have suffered.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating.
