Dozens of restaurant-goers were stuck inside a Bay Shore restaurant as floodwaters rose outside the establishment late Saturday night, authorities said.

A number of fire departments, including West Sayville and Islip Terrace, sent brush trucks to help people trapped inside the LakeHouse Restaurant on Maple Avenue about 11:20 p.m., officials said.

Fire officials and other emergency responders arrived at the scene a short time after they received calls for help, authorities said.
