KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Judges have decided that the custody fight over the daughter of former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, the former West Babylon resident who fatally shot his girlfriend before killing himself, will be handled in Missouri, not Texas.

The dispute is between the paternal and maternal grandparents of 4-month-old Zoey Belcher. In addition to the well-being of the child, more than $1 million is at stake because of insurance and inheritance. Judges said the custody dispute would be handled in Missouri's Jackson County, where the baby was living at the time of her parents' deaths. -- AP
