A Bellport woman was arrested Saturday night, Suffolk County police said, after her car collided with another vehicle while she drove intoxicated with three children in the car.

A 2005 Dodge Neon driven by Zona Taylor, 43, collided with a 2003 Ford on westbound North Prospect Avenue in Patchogue at 10:58 p.m., police said.

After the crash, police said, Taylor ran from her disabled car, taking along her own child, 8, and her two grandchildren, ages 4 and 6, who had been in the car.

Police found Taylor and the children a short distance away on Dogwood Lane in Blue Point. The children had been injured in the crash, as had Taylor's adult passenger and the driver of the Ford. The five were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment, and the children were released to a family member.

Taylor was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, otherwise known as Leandra's Law, leaving the scene of an accident with injury and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

She is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
