Benjamin Beach in Bay Shore has been closed by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services due to high levels of bacteria found in the water, officials said Monday.

In addition to Benjamin Beach, four other Suffolk beaches remain closed, health officials said. They are Peconic Dunes Camp Beach (on Great Pond), Tanner Park Beach in Copiague, Sayville Beach and Sayville Marina Park Beach.

For more information on the beach closings, residents may call the county's bathing beach hotline at 631-852-5822, or visit the department's website at suffolkcountyny.gov/health.
