Bernardo Benjamin Briones Bautista struck, killed by vehicle in Selden, cops say

Suffolk County police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian who was walking on Middle Country Road in Selden early Monday.
Bernardo Benjamin Briones Bautista, 27, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a 2008 Nissan that was driven by John Black, 32, of Coram.
At about 12:45 a.m., Bautista was walking in the right lane of the roadway when he was hit.
Black was not injured and remained at the scene; no charges are pending, police said.
His vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing, police said.
