Bicyclist hit by car, critically injured, police say
A bicyclist riding on the center of Route 110 was critically injured in Huntington Station when he was struck by a car Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.
Miguel Vilorio Ponce, 31, of Huntington Station, was hit by a 2007 Honda Accord as it headed west on Broadway and crossed Route 110 just before 8 p.m., police said.
Ponce was taken by Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital, police said.
The Honda driver, Naeem Iqbal, 42, of Huntington, was not injured, police said, and his car was impounded for a safety check.
