Bicyclist seriously injured in Coram accident
Detectives are investigating an accident that seriously injured a bicyclist in Coram early Wednesday, Suffolk County police said.
Ian Rhodes, 22, of Coram, was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Mount Sinai-Coram Road and Pine Road at about 5:12 a.m. when he and a 2003 Ford collided, police said.
Frank Sciulla, 49, of Rocky Point, who was driving the Ford south on Mount Sinai-Coram Road, was not injured, police said.
Rhodes was taken by Coram Fire Department Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
