Bicyclist seriously injured in East Moriches crash with Prius

A bicyclist was seriously injured when he collided with a car in East Moriches Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.
The accident happened about 7:50 a.m. when William Seeger, 47, of Eastport, was riding a bicycle north on Locust Avenue, Suffolk County police said.
Seeger tried to turn left onto Montauk Highway when he was struck by a 2010 Toyota Prius driven by John Gannon, 52, of East Moriches, which was also heading north on Locust Avenue and trying to make the same turn, police said.
Police said Seeger was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Gannon was alone in his car and was not injured, police said.
Police said the bicycle and Toyota were impounded, and the investigation is continuing.
