Body found in North Bellport woods
Suffolk County police homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified man found in a wooded area of North Bellport.
The man was found Tuesday about 12:17 p.m. in woods near Hoffman and Hampton avenues, said a police spokeswoman.
Police said the man does not appear to be a victim of a homicide. His identity was not going to be released as there was no criminality involved, they said. The cause of death is under investigation and an autopsy will be performed, police said.
