Suffolk County police on Thursday were investigating the circumstances surrounding a man’s body found in Coram late Wednesday on Route 112 and Granny Road.

The body was discovered outdoors about 9 p.m. in an abandoned lot there, homicide detectives said.

He has been identified, and while the medical examiner’s office will determine cause of death, it does not appear any criminality was involved, detectives said.

Police Thursday night did not release the man’s identity because no foul play appears to have been involved.
