Body of Marine Justin Wilson returns to U.S.

The body of slain Long Island Marine Lance Cpl. Justin J. Wilson, 24, arrived at Dover Air Force Base late Wednesday.

Family members are preparing a wake at Forest Hills Funeral Home and a funeral Mass at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, both in Palm City, Fla. The family hopes to schedule the services for next week, said Nassau Police Det. Sgt. Robert Galgano, Wilson's uncle, although exact dates have not been finalized.

The former Commack resident, who moved to Florida before joining the Marines, died in Helmand province Afghanistan on Monday, when an improvised explosive device exploded near him.
