Cops: 2 killed in Bohemia motorcycle crash
Two men died on the Sunrise Highway in Bohemia on Friday night: a pedestrian walking back to his disabled car and the motorcyclist who hit him, Suffolk police said.
Kazimierz Wiszowaty, 61, of Holtsville, and Robert Pappas, 23, of Patchogue, both were pronounced dead, police said.
Wiszowaty had left his 2005 Toyota sedan on the right shoulder of the eastbound highway. He was struck by Pappas, mounted on a Kawasaki motorcycle, while walking south under the Smithtown Boulevard overpass back to his car at about 9 p.m., the police said.
The sedan and motorcycle were impounded for safety checks, police said.
