Firefighters from eight Suffolk County departments battled a commercial building fire on the West Babylon-Wyandanch border early Tuesday, Suffolk County police and fire officials said.

The fire at Amscor, Inc., at 119 Lamar St. in West Babylon, was reported in a 911 call at 6:04 a.m., police said.

Amscor manufactures steel shelving and storage products, according to its website.

Officials had initially said an auto repair shop caught fire.

Police said arson detectives are investigating.

Fire officials said firefighters from East Farmingdale, South Farmingdale, Farmingdale, West Babylon, North Babylon, North Lindenhurst, Wyandanch and Melville all responded.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Police said the building housing Amscor at 119 Lamar St. in West Babylon caught fire Tuesday. The information was incorrect in a previous version of this story.
