Brentwood fire seriously injures woman, 49

A woman was seriously injured in a late-night house fire Tuesday in Brentwood, Suffolk County fire officials said.
The victim, identified only as a 49-year-old resident of the house, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with undisclosed injuries. Police said the woman was later transferred to Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Officials said the fire at the home on Arizona Avenue was reported at 11:24 p.m. The scene is located near the intersection of East Third Street.
No one else was injured in the blaze, which officials said was battled by firefighters from Brentwood, East Brentwood, Bay Shore and Islip.
Arson Squad investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
