A drunken driver spun sideways Thursday morning on Sunrise Highway and came to a stop across the center of the road, police said.
The driver of a following car was injured when she plowed into the stopped car, but the drunken driver was not hurt, police said.
A 2003 Mitsubishi driven by David Siguenza-Guerra, 26, of Brentwood, spun out about 2:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of highway between Exits 41 and 43 in Bay Shore, police said.
His car was then hit by a 1999 Saturn driven by Patricia Pless, 29, of Coram, police said.
She was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Siguenza-Guerra was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, police said.
