Brentwood man charged with DWI, resisting arrest
A Brentwood man was arrested on Sunday after he drove while intoxicated, then resisted police officers trying to take him into custody, Suffolk County police said.
Rodlain Surpris, 23, was driving a 2013 Nissan on East Cherry Street in Central Islip when he refused to stop when officers tried to pull him over, police said.
Police apprehended Surpris at 2:50 a.m. on Connetquot Avenue in East Islip, where he pushed an officer during his arrest, police said.
Surpris was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, harassment and resisting arrest.
He is to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip.
