Brentwood man killed in Queens construction site fall
A Brentwood man died Thursday after he fell one story while working at a construction site in Astoria, Queens, officials said.
Ricardo Gonzalez, 42, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after he fell through the first floor of a building under construction at 45-11 Broadway and suffered head injuries when he landed in the basement, said officials.
Gonzalez later died of his injuries at hospital. City officials issued a stop work order at the construction site where a mixed-used 4-story building was going up, said Tony Sclafani, a spokesman for the Department of Buildings. The department is investigation the incident, said Sclafani.
