Free health screenings will be offered this weekend in Brentwood, when the Suffolk County Department of Health Services will host a youth soccer tournament and carnival in an effort to promote wellness.

The first Soccer Health Carnival will take place Saturday at Brentwood State Park from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., officials said.

The idea, officials said in a prepared statement, is to "promote physical activity as well as unity in the Brentwood neighborhood." The venue will offer free screenings and information promoting wellness and will feature soccer games, concession stands and children's activities.
