An 11-year-old Brooklyn boy was pronounced dead late Sunday afternoon after being pulled, unresponsive, from the bottom of a residential pool in East Hampton, police said.

The child's identity was withheld by authorities Monday.

East Hampton Town Police did not immediately label the incident a drowning, but said the death "does not appear to be suspicious" -- and said the cause of death will be determined by the Suffolk County medical examiner.

The incident at the home on Route 114 in East Hampton was reported in a 911 call at 5:08 p.m., police said.

Officers and ambulance personnel arriving on the scene found the boy unresponsive, having been pulled from the bottom of the residential pool, police said.

The child was taken to Southampton Hospital, where police said he was pronounced dead despite "all efforts" to revive him. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call investigators at 631-537-7575.
