Brooklyn man dies in Massapequa crash

A Brooklyn man died Friday morning when his pickup truck overturned on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa, Nassau County police said.
Frank Marano, 59, was driving a 2001 Ford pickup west on the highway near Lakeshore Boulevard at about 5 a.m. when the vehicle left the road, struck a utility pole and hit a brick water company pump house, police said in a news release.
Marano was pronounced dead at the scene, and the truck was impounded for a safety check, police said.
