Building damaged in Ronkonkoma condo blaze, officials say
Firefighters from three Suffolk County departments battled a midmorning blaze at a condominium complex in Ronkonkoma on Friday, officials said, limiting the damage to one building.
Suffolk fire officials said the fire at the complex on Richmond Boulevard was reported in a 911 call at 10:43 a.m. Volunteers from Lakeland, Ronkonkoma and Nesconset all responded — containing the damage to the first and second-floor units in the building. No other buildings were damaged, fire officials said.
There were no reported injuries.
Lakeland fire officials said the scene was cleared at about 12:20 p.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Town of Islip Fire Marshal and the Suffolk police Arson Squad.
