A burn victim was taken to the hospital late Friday afternoon as four fire departments battled a blaze in Kings Park, county officials said.

Flames started at a home on Primrose Lane shortly before 4:15 p.m. but was under control shortly after 5 p.m., said a spokesman at the Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Department.

The victim, a man, was conscious and alert when he was rescued, the county official said. It was not immediately clear who the victim is but it is not a firefighter, police and county officials said.

Other details were not immediately available.
