Daniel Fortune, the Central Islip man injured Wednesday morning in a motorcycle crash in Uniondale, died Thursday at Nassau University Medical Center, according to a spokeswoman for the center.

Fortune, 49, was ejected from his motorcycle at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound Southern State Parkway, just west of Exit 21, Nassau Road, according to New York State Police. It was a one-vehicle crash, police said.

It appears that Fortune's motorcycle hit the center median guardrail, police said.

Fortune was airlifted in serious condition to the East Meadow medical center.
