Police said Tuesday that Roberta Ekberg of Calverton died at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was taken after the crash last Thursday morning. Ekberg was a passenger heading westbound in a 2007 Honda CRV when the Honda's driver tried to make a left turn onto Fresh Pond Avenue and collided with a 2011 Audi that was heading east, police said.

The driver of the Honda, Alfred Ekberg, 79, also of Calverton, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. The driver of the Audi, Jeannette Kuzma, 58, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center. Details on their conditions were not immediately available Tuesday night.
