An electrical fire in the engine of a bus carrying 12 Long Island children to a Jewish summer camp in Sullivan County stranded its passengers for a short time on the New York Thruway near the Nyack exit Thursday, State Police said.

The bus overheated or stalled because of the electrical fire in the engine at about 2 p.m., police said. The bus stopped on the northbound Thruway, just before the Nyack exit.

There were no injuries. Another bus transported the children to camp without incident, police said.
