Car catches fire outside Farmingville home, officials say

A car erupted in flames outside a Farmingville home late Monday, but there were no reported injuries and the fire did not spread to nearby houses, police and fire officials said.

The fire was reported on Blue Point Road between Birch and Acorn avenues at 10:40 p.m. and the Farmingville Fire Department responded, fire officials said.
