Car found in bicyclist hit-run
Police late Saturday said they found a car that had been sought in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a bicyclist in Patchogue.
Maria Penaranda, 41, of Patchogue was bicycling on the Sunrise Highway south service road Friday when a car hit her and drove off about 10:30 p.m., police said.
Late Saturday night, police said they found the car based on witnesses who had taken note of the license plate. They did not describe the vehicle. No one has been charged.
Penaranda, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, was in stable condition Saturday night, police said.
