A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Port Jefferson Station on Thursday night is in critical condition, Suffolk police said.

Police said the man was struck on Route 25A near the Long Island Rail Road Port Jefferson station tracks about 9 p.m. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition.

The driver was not hurt and stayed at the scene, police said.

No further information on the victim was available late Thursday night.
