Car in crash hits dry cleaner
An accident on Straight Path in North Lindenhurst on Thursday ended when one of the vehicles left the road, crashing into a roadside storefront, Suffolk County police said.
No one was injured and police said there was no criminality in the crash, which ended with one of the vehicles hitting a "drive in" dry cleaning store.
The accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. when a Chevy Suburban driven by Jason Newman, 38, of Roslyn Heights, crashed into a 2003 Mercury sedan while attempting to change lanes.
The driver of the Mercury, identified by police as Douglas Bullenkamp, 53, of West Babylon, then lost control -- and crashed into the cleaners, police said.
