Car slams Brookhaven public works truck

The front of the car was mangled nearly beyond recognition.
But the driver suffered minor injuries, officials said, after slamming into the back of a Town of Brookhaven Department of Public Works dump truck Monday in Holbrook.
The crash took place on southbound Patchogue-Holbrook Road near Broadway Avenue around 11:45 a.m., Suffolk County police said. The driver of the car, whose identity was not released, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for observation, police said.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
