A Bay Shore motorist failed to negotiate a turn Friday afternoon, went airborne and crashed into the front of a house on the corner, Suffolk County police said.

No one in the house was injured.

"I was washing my floors, and I just walked into the kitchen and it just happened," homeowner Kathy Moran said. "It was unbelievable. I thought the house was just blowing up, and I turned around and there was a car, a tree and everything else inside my living room."

The unidentified 46-year-old Bay Shore man was driving south on Manor Lane about 1 p.m. when he attempted to turn west onto Bay Shore Road, police said. Instead, he hit the home on the corner of Bay Shore Road, police said.

He was taken to Southside Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

Moran said she was alone on the ground floor with her two dogs at the time, and there was a woman downstairs watching two babies.

"I just thank God nobody was hurt," Moran said.
