A woman was not injured early Monday when she drove her car onto a boat ramp and into the water near the Port Jefferson ferry dock, Suffolk County police said.

The woman, 48, of Stony Brook, was alone in her Toyota Corolla at about 1:30 a.m. when she drove onto the boat ramp at Route 25A and Barnum Avenue.

A police spokeswoman said it appears the woman hit her gas pedal instead of the brake.
