One lane of eastbound Sunrise Highway in North Great River was closed after two cars collided Sunday afternoon, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office said.

The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. at Exit 46 on Sunrise Highway. The eastbound right lane of the highway was blocked and sheriff's officials could not be reached later in the day to determine whether it was reopened.

A sheriff's office official said there were no fatalities, but did not have information on injuries.
