Authorities resumed their search at Caumsett Historic State Park Preserve Sunday for a 22-year-old Great Neck woman reported missing Friday after her white Honda Accord was found left in a parking field for more than a day.

The park, located in Huntington Town on Long Island Sound, was closed for much of Saturday as police, who did not identify the woman by name, began their search. It was not known when it would reopen, according to George Gorman Jr., regional director of state parks.

Only the equestrian center and stables have been open during the investigation so that owners can ride and tend to their horses. The park is also popular with walkers, runners and bicyclists.

New York State Police said in a statement issued through Gorman Sunday said that on Saturday the staff at Caumsett reported that a vehicle had remained in the parking field for at least 24 hours. The state park police determined the car was operated by the missing woman reported by the Nassau County Police Department. A search then commenced involving several emergency service agencies.

The investigating agencies include the Suffolk County police aviation helicopter and canine officers, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation police and forest rangers, New York State Police, Lloyd Harbor Village police, Nassau County police, the Huntington Harbor Master, and the Huntington First Aid Squad as well as fire departments from Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington, Halesite and Huntington Manor.
