Wading River Road reopens after bus crash, police say
An accident involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle forced the closure of Wading River Road for more than two hours Tuesday morning in Center Moriches, Suffolk County police said.
The bus was not carrying students and no one was seriously injured, Suffolk fire officials and police said.
Police said the crash was reported at 6:05 a.m. and that Wading River Road was closed between Sunrise Highway and Brookfield Avenue. Police said the road was reopened at about 8:30 a.m.
The accident occurred in front of the Montauk Bus Service Inc. depot and involved one of its buses, according to a woman who answered the phone there but said she could not comment further.
Fire officials said the Center Moriches Fire Department rescue crew responded to the scene.
