Police investigate rash of car break-ins in Center Moriches
A rash of car break-ins has Center Moriches residents on edge, as police search for the suspect -- or suspects -- responsible for the incidents, police said.
Suffolk County police said there have been about 20 car break-ins since Sept. 1, with items stolen from vehicles overnight. In at least two of the break-ins, police said windows were smashed. In most, cash was taken, in addition to items.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the larcenies to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward for any information leading to an arrest.
