Centereach teen pointed BB gun at school bus, Suffolk cops say
Suffolk County police arrested a Centereach teen after they said he pointed what appeared to be a gun at a school bus.
Police said a 17-year-old student got into a dispute with another student on the bus and threatened to shoot him. The first student then got off the bus at Garden Street in Centereach at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and pointed a weapon that resembled a handgun at the bus, police said.
Police were called and after an investigation, the weapon was found to be a BB gun without a red tip.
The student was placed under arrest on Friday, charged with three counts of second-degree menacing. Police issued him a desk appearance ticket. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
