Centereach woman’s death probed, cops say

Suffolk County police on Friday identified a woman found dead inside a Centereach home Thursday as Rachelle Weeks-Strub, 40, but said investigators are still awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine her cause of death.
It remains unclear if homicide squad detectives suspect the circumstances involve any criminality.
Police said that officers making a wellness check at the home on Towne Lane just after 10 a.m. found Weeks-Strub deceased in the basement apartment where she lived.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, but police said Friday it remained unclear when those results would be released.
