Cops: Central Islip man burglarized four strip-mall stores in one day
A Central Islip man faces multiple charges after his arrest for burglarizing several shops in an East Islip strip mall, Suffolk police said.
Gene Fairbrother, 57, burglarized the stores at about 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 13, police said.
He is accused of stealing items from Pudgies, D.S. Happy Nail, Lori’s Dance Center and Verizon, which are all located in the mall at 126 East Main St., police said.
Fairbrother was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with four counts of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Police held Fairbrother overnight at the Third Precinct he and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, authorities said.
An attorney for Fairbrother could not be immediately reached.
