Missing Central Islip woman found after Silver Alert issued

A missing Central Islip woman who suffers from dementia was found unharmed, police said.

Josefina Suriel, 75, was last seen on East Elm Street in Central Islip around 11 a.m. Friday, Suffolk County police said in a Silver Alert issued Friday evening. She was located, police said in an update after midnight on Sunday.

In a state Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert, authorities said she may have taken a train to New York City and may have been in need of medical attention.
