Commercial building damaged in Deer Park fire

Firefighters from six departments battled an early morning blaze Monday that damaged a commercial building in Deer Park, fire officials said.
There were no reported injuries in the blaze, which was reported at 4:58 a.m. at a building on Skidmores Road, Suffolk County fire officials said.
Officials said the building is located between Fillmore Avenue and Hickory Street. It was described only as a 200-foot by 60-foot commercial structure.
Volunteer firefighters from Deer Park, West Islip, North Babylon, Brentwood, Bay Shore, Wyandanch and Dix Hills all responded to the scene. Officials said the fire was under control at 6:17 a.m.
Arson Squad investigators also were requested. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, officials said.
