Cop hurt in Cold Spring Harbor crash

A Suffolk County police car was involved in a crash Tuesday that left an officer with minor injuries, police said.

The crash took place on Soundview Road near Cragg Court in Cold Spring Harbor at 12:05 p.m., police said.

The road is closed between Willow and Oakwood.

Police could not immediately confirm details of the accident. A witness at the scene said the patrol car struck a utility pole, knocking it down.

Police confirmed the downed pole and said a LIPA emergency crew was on scene. Police said the officer was taken to a local hospital complaining of back pain.
