Copiague man charged with illegally collecting unemployment
A Copiague man has been arrested on charges of collecting unemployment insurance while working for a Glen Cove contracting company, State Police said.
Constantino Gonzalez, 35, unlawfully collected $3,018 in unemployment benefits, State Police said. An investigation originating from the state Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that Gonzalez collected the payments between Jan. 26 and Aug. 2, 2009.
Gonzalez has been charged with grand larceny.
A number listed for Vulpis Contracting, the company police said Gonzalez was working for, was not in service.
