Man found on Copiague street, later dies, police say

A man was found lying in a Copiague street early Wednesday morning and later pronounced dead, police said.

A passing driver called 911 to report the man in Great Neck Road by Oak Street about 1:10 a.m., Suffolk County police said. 

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said. 

Detectives are investigating, police said, but there were no further details available.
