A 90-year-old Jamesport man was killed in a two-car accident in Riverhead on Saturday, police said.

John M. Ziemacki was sitting in the front seat of a 1998 Ford sedan driven by his wife Caroline, 89, when a 1995 Dodge Ram truck slammed into the Ford as it turned left off Route 25 onto Doctors Path at 11:41 a.m., Riverhead Town Police said.

John Ziemacki was rushed to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Caroline Ziemacki was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.

The Ram's driver, Matthew P. Romanelli, 23, of Greenport, was also taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was treated and released, police said.

No one has been charged with a crime in the crash, police said. They urged any witnesses to contact the detective division at 631-727-4500.
