Cops: 1 man shot in face by air rifle; 2nd man arrested
A 23-year-old man was shot in the face by an air rifle early Sunday, sending him to the hospital with a large gash, Southold police said.
Brayan Cahueque, 23, of Laurel, was arrested outside his home and charged with assault. Police said that the shooting occurred about 4 a.m. Sunday after an altercation outside his house.
The victim, who was not identified by police, was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for his injury.
The weapon was recovered and held as evidence.
