A two-car crash in North Babylon on Friday afternoon sent two women to the hospital, Suffolk police said.

About 4:30 p.m., Jane Evans-Parker was going west on Weeks Road in her Honda when she hit a Dodge leaving a Pathmark shopping center near Deer Park Avenue, police said.

One car ended up overturned on the sidewalk, hitting a fire hydrant, which smashed through the windshield and dashboard.

Evans-Parker, 65, of West Islip, was in serious condition Friday night at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said.

The Dodge driver, Crystal Woods of Wyandanch, was also treated there and released, police said.

No apparent crime was involved, police said, but both cars were seized for safety checks.
