The driver of each vehicle was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
One of the vehicles was driving eastbound on Expressway Drive South when it ran a light and hit a vehicle that was traveling north on Route 111, police said.
The northbound vehicle was flipped on its side, police said, and Route 111 was closed from about 12:30 p.m. until shortly before 2 p.m. as emergency personnel and police cleared the area.
