Cops: 2 people shot in Riverhead
Riverhead police said they are investigating a shooting that left two people wounded on Saturday night.
Police received a report of gunfire shortly before 11 p.m. near homes in a remote Riverhead neighborhood off Doctor's Path and Oakland Drive South, dispatchers said.
Police confirmed two gunshot victims who were being treated by paramedics, but the extent of their injuries was not known.
Authorities did not announce any arrests or say what prompted the shooting.
